From our everyday experiences we know that the sun emits light and heat. Light, heat, radio, x-rays and all other types of solar energy are forms of electromagnetic radiation.

“Solar radiation” means all electromagnetic radiation emitted by the sun including visible light. Solar radiation passes through the atmosphere, is absorbed, and is re-radiated back out to space as infrared (heat) waves.
