FYI On the fence

Electric fences were first used on a Texas ranch in 1888. Today solar-powered fences are used extensively in the Texas Panhandle to fence cattle in. The idea of the electric fence was to reduce the need for fence posts, injure cattle less than traditional barbed wire, and allow cowboys riding the fence line to tap into a telephone attached to the electric fence.
