Gas Laws In Action

3 of 46
...

Propane is a handy alternative fuel. It is easily stored and transported, which makes it a readily portable source for heating and cooking. Campers use propane in small containers to generate light and heat miles away from civilization.

In this experiment, you will investigate Boyle's and Charles's laws of gases and apply what you learn to the behavior of propane gas in a pressurized tank. You will first collect data and graph the data to understand the relationships between temperature, volume, and pressure. These physical relationships have important practical applications. They underlie all of the procedures and rules developed to ensure the safe handling of propane and other pressurized gases.
